Summary: This was a perfect place to stay for our family of six visiting family in Elk Grove. Courteous staff, clean rooms, pleasant decor - all this was great, but most hotels can meet these expectations. The sofa bed mattress was actually acceptably comfortable so bonus points for this. But the main reason for the 5-star rating was the breakfast - it was truly excellent, maybe even outstanding, the best we’ve had at a ‘normal’ hotel in many years, and actually better than another Holiday Inn Express we stayed at just a few months ago. They even had sausage gravy with biscuits - we thought this was a discontinued breakfast item, but this hotel still had it.
